Valeriya Kettelhut earned her PhD in Biomedical Informatics and Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University if Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Her professional interests include biomedical informatics, healthcare innovation, skin longevity, healthy aging, and the relationship between the skin and gut microbiome.
Inspired by commitment to prevention, education, and continuous improvement, Valeriya established Elkhorn Dermatology to bring physician-supervised dermatology, advanced skin imaging, and evidence-based skincare together under one roof. Working alongside with clinic providers, she helped introduce technologies including FotoFinder mole mapping, digital dermoscopy, and VISIA Skin Analysis to support comprehensive skin evaluations, early skin cancer detection, and long-term skin monitoring.
As Elkhorn Dermatology’s Clinical Skincare Specialist and the founder of Valeriya Life Medical Spa and Valeriya Life Skincare, Valeriya specializes in evidence-based skincare education and healthy skin maintenance. In her role as a skincare specialist, Valeriya assists both walk-in visitors and clinic patients who receive skincare recommendations from our medical staff by providing education on skincare ingredients, product benefits, and daily skincare routines. She helps retail customers make informed decisions when selecting skincare products, including those recommended by the clinic’s providers, to support their individualized skincare goals.
Valeriya is also a licensed permanent color technician and professional tattoo artist specializing in cosmetic and paramedical tattooing. Her expertise includes scar camouflage tattooing, areola restoration tattoo, microblading, permanent eyeliner, and lip blush. She is passionate about helping individuals restore confidence through natural-looking restorative and cosmetic tattooing techniques. Her work combines artistry, precision, and attention to detail to create natural-looking cosmetic and restorative results.
Outside of work, Valeriya enjoys spending time with her family, playing the piano, and staying active through biking, swimming, hiking, and other outdoor activities. She believes creativity, lifelong learning, and overall wellness are essential to maintaining healthy skin and a balanced life.
