Margaret “Maggie” Matveyev, APRN, FNP-C, is a dermatology-trained nurse practitioner and the Clinical Director at Elkhorn Dermatology with expertise in skin cancer detection and prevention, medical dermatology, and cosmetic skin rejuvenation. She is dedicated to helping patients protect, restore, and maintain healthy skin through comprehensive skin evaluations, early diagnosis, and individualized treatment plans.
Maggie specializes in comprehensive skin cancer screenings, digital dermoscopy, and FotoFinder mole mapping, using advanced imaging technology to document and monitor skin changes over time. Her expertise includes evaluating suspicious lesions, recognizing the earliest signs of melanoma and other skin cancers, and performing skin biopsies when further evaluation is needed. Through meticulous skin examinations and evidence-based care, she helps patients detect skin cancer at its earliest and most treatable stages.
In addition to medical dermatology, Maggie provides a wide range of cosmetic dermatology treatments designed to improve skin health, confidence, and long-term skin quality. She performs VISIA Skin Analysis, Jeuveau and Letybo wrinkle-relaxing injections, IPL photofacial treatments, TriBella skin rejuvenation, fractional skin resurfacing, microneedling, chemical peels, and IPL hair removal, creating personalized treatment plans based on each patient’s skin goals and concerns.
Her clinical expertise also includes treatment of common dermatologic conditions such as acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, and hair loss, as well as procedures including cryosurgery for benign skin lesions and skin lesion extractions. In addition to dermatology care, Maggie provides physician-supervised wellness services, including our medical weight loss program, IV therapy, and other wellness treatments that support overall health, complement skin wellness, and promote long-term patient well-being.
Before joining Elkhorn Dermatology, Maggie developed a strong clinical foundation in hospital medicine before expanding her expertise in aesthetic medicine at Valeriya Life Medical Spa. Combining advanced dermatology training with extensive experience in cosmetic medicine allows her to seamlessly integrate medical and aesthetic care, helping patients achieve healthier skin while supporting natural, long-lasting results.
Maggie believes exceptional dermatology begins with education, prevention, and individualized care. She combines principles of conventional dermatology with a comprehensive understanding of skin health, empowering patients to make informed decisions while developing treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and long-term goals.
Maggie earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Morningside University and is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). She remains actively involved in continuing dermatology education through organizations including the Dermatology Nurses’ Association, the Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, ensuring her patients benefit from the latest evidence-based advances in dermatologic care.
